Our chickens and duck are SO HAPPY.

The weather turned out to be just right to get our first round of tilling in for the vegetable beds today. It was quite a bit of coordination to have the tractor, the soil, and the rototiller all ready at the same time! And OH WHAT SOIL!! Lovely loose deep rich manure-enriched rows that made my heart do a summersault! Our flock found it quite intriguing also (hey ladies, save some of those worms for our veggies!). What a lovely day to enjoy walking along the rows, seeing that deep rich soil, feeling the slightly cloudy but dry skies overhead, and knowing that Mother Earth AGAIN, is ready to deliver her bounty for another season. Not bad for an especially cold early March.
